SaskCanola Elects New Board Leadership

A new year is upon us and with is comes new leadership on the SaskCanola Board. Following the Annual General Meeting on January 11, SaskCanola’s Board of Directors elected Charlene Bradley as Board Chair.

Charlene and her family operate a grain farm near Stranraer. She is currently Chair of the Canola Council of Canada and is serving her second term on the SaskCanola Board.

“I am pleased to accept the Chair position for SaskCanola,” Charlene Bradley stated. “I want to sincerely thank our outgoing Chair Bernie McClean for his leadership and dedication to representing Saskatchewan farmers.”

McClean replied, “It has been a pleasure to lead the SaskCanola Board this past year. Charlene and I have served our tenure together as directors, and I look forward to her leadership.”

Other newly elected leadership positions include Keith Fournier of Lone Rock as Vice Chair and Bernie McClean of Glaslyn as Audit and Finance Committee Chair.

As well, 2022 is an election year for the SaskCanola Board. Four director positions will be open for nominations this summer, and voting will take place in November. Farmers are encouraged to reach out to a current director to discuss this leadership opportunity further if it interests them.

SaskCanola is a producer-led organization, established in 1991 and supported by 20,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan canola producers. SaskCanola’s mandate is to grow producer prosperity by providing value to canola producers through research investments and communication to growers, consumers, and government.
