Through levy funds provided by registered producers, SaskCanola develops partnerships, programs and funding initiatives that enhance the awareness, growth and prosperity of the canola industry both locally and provincially.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
Canola Country is Rider Country. Our Kickoff to Good Health partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders means thousands of fans hear our heart-healthy messages about canola oil during each home game. The Kickoff to Good Health brochure has great recipes for cooks and easy to understand health and nutrition info, download it below. In 2009, the Riders switched their popcorn oil and topping to canola at Mosaic Stadium.
Producer Meetings and Field Days
SaskCanola will be holding Producer Meetings in early 2011. Information on agronomy, markets, weather, and research activities will be are highlighted and shared with producers at each of these meetings. The dates of the 2011 meetings will be posted early January 2011 on this site. Field Days are also held at provincial research sites in the summer to allow farmers to see what happens in the research plots. Dates of the 2011 Field Days will be posted in spring 2011.
Government and Stakeholder Outreach
Canola is a $5 billion industry in Saskatchewan. SaskCanola develops communication opportunities to better inform and update our stakeholders about the canola industry and its value to Saskatchewan and Canada. These opportunities bring together government MLAs and MPs as well as business and industry officials on an annual basis.
Canola Digest Magazine
Four issues of Canola digest with a focus on producer issues are mailed out each year. This publication is brought to you by SaskCanola, the Manitoba Canola Growers Association, the Alberta Canola Producers Commission and the Canola Council of Canada.
