Leaders Wanted
Become a Director of the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission.
Directors of the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission (SCDC)
are at the leading edge of the canola industry. Directors oversee
the distribution of research funds, promote Canadian canola, and
represent their fellow canola growers in industry matters.
Directors serve a three-year term and are eligible
for re-election for a further two terms. Two Director positions
are available this year.
SCDC Directors attend approximately six board
meetings a year and contribute time to the activities of a Board
committee. Directors are called upon to represent SCDC at meetings
and major conferences. The total time commitment is approximately
40 days per year.
Registered canola growers interested in building
the canola industry, please contact the SCDC office toll free
at 1-877-241-7044 for nomination forms, and return them to
the Returning Officer no later than 12:00 p.m. October 19, 2007.
Note: Only registered growers may vote, nominate
or hold office.
A registered grower means any grower who has
had a Saskatchewan canola check-off deducted since August 1, 2005.
All growers selling Saskatchewan-grown canola to registered buyers
are automatically registered with the SCDC.
An election (if required) will be by mail ballot
with election results announced at the Annual General Meeting
in Saskatoon, SK, January 9, 2008.
